Livin’ Out All My Favorite Country Songs
by Retsim Laudividni
Been thinkin’ a lot about it lately
Moved to the city when I was young
Left my country side in the dust
But now things have gone full circle
And I’m ready to head on home
Hell, maybe I’ll get me a rockin’ chair
Sit on my old ass all day & night long
Pass out holdin’ a lukewarm high life
Let the big ol’ mosquitoes feast on me
‘Til the sunrise wakes me up
Livin’ out all my favorite country songs
No offense to big city dwellin’
Had some roller coaster ups and downs
Made more money than I could imagine
Heart broken more times than I can count
I think I need a different kind of crazy now
Hell, maybe I’ll pick me up some old chew habits
Head to every ball game that’s being played
Scream & holler at those damn zebras
Ride that buzz til kingdom come
Or at least ‘til all my gums are gone
Livin’ out all my favorite country songs
I figured I’d wait until retirement
After that bucket list is all checked off
But if I’ve learned anything bout fast livin’
It’s that things just keep piling up
Ain’t quite ready to die but lookin’ to slow it down
Hell, maybe I’ll get me a brand new shotgun
To chase away those rascally rabbits
From eating my half-grown harvest
Maybe serve’em up for Sunday dinner
If they keep trespassing’ on my lawn
Livin’ out all my favorite country songs
I wanna trade the big skyscrapers
For ten thousand tall oak trees
Say bye bye to all that road rage
I only hope that I’m still welcomed
See I’m the same good ol’ boy at heart
Heck, maybe I’ll even get a dog
The time has finally come
When I’m ready to be livin’
Somethin’ I never not was
Every single last one of
My favorite country songs
