She says, “Hii…”

She says, “Hi…”
by: Retsim Laudividni
She says, “Hi”
As she passes by
Five years later
Not one more, “Hi”
I’ll never see her again
She says, “Hi”
Via her best friend
But I am shy and cannot reply
To her, to either of them
Another failure, a possible trend
She says, “Hii”
In all of the ways
Yet, it isn’t just right
So, I resist until tomorrowday
Then she goes another way
She says, “Hi”
I spontaneously combust
Reincarnated from heaven’s dust
Alas, her dagger, she thrusts
In dark times, my heart rusts
She says, “Hii”
Like she really means it
And I’ve no more strength to resist
My heart yearns for bliss
I’d be remiss. She was this.
She says, “Hiii”
To her newfound puzzle
A jigsaw of fractured light
The most beautiful fight
Til the bitter end of the night
She says, “Hii”
Seeing her brave white knight
Stout as a house of cards
Collapsing by trivial winds
Still footless, this cursed trend
She says, “Hii”
Found a pleasant surprise
A shiny new toy to play with
Handling the fragile with care
While balancing on the precipice
