CURSED

Do you believe in curses?
Or is it nothing but folklore
For I fear I may be cursed.
Please tell me if I’m wrong.
I have no limitations at all
Yet I am clearly restrained.
I am mentally ready to go
But I am physically locked
And frozen at the start line.
Unhand me now foul curse.
Allow me to pursue my will
As I have made my choice.
You have only one purpose
Which is to leave me here.
Could you slip up this once
Your secret is safe with me
It’s just that you are strong
And superior to typical me.
Well, flattery doesn’t work
But you see that I must try.
Because you’re in my way
And are now my nemesis.
I didn’t take you for a fool.
There is time to run away
Before I am fully engaged.
Heed this one last chance
For I’ll take no pity on you.
You called my bluff, curse
I’m just walklessly talking
Right back to square one.
So that’s that then, curse,
Just the two of us forever.
This might not be so bad
But rather it’s the new me.
Yes, adaptation is the key.
I will commit to you, curse
With two daredevil leaps
From here to over yonder
And then right back again.
Step aside, this is for you.
Marked. Ready. Set and…
Curses! Please let me go.
I swear that I’d jump back.
Even for you, that was low.
That was checkmate, curse
I suppose it’s not your fault.
You’re only doing your job
Who really did this to me?
Do you ever get worn out
With doing the same thing?
Following such strict orders
Dictated by your creator.
You’re just a meager slave
Who has blocked my way.
I can at least think freely
As you narrowly persist
In your single dimension.
Snap out of it damn curse!
It’s time to open your eyes.
Does it need to be this way?
Take a look around, curse.
And see this great big world
Yet here you are with me
Until we are parted by death.
That’s one bland existence
If I may speak so boldly.
I lived greatly before you
And even if this is my end
I will rest in easy peace
Because I know freedom
I can taste it via memories.
Listen to reason, curse.
As I speak from my heart.
You too are cursed, my friend.
And you’ve been from the start.
In order to find your reprieve
You must let your guard down
And find some way to believe
That we are just in our own way.
And we need not cage ourselves
From all that we want, every day.
